It is a moment of immense pride and pleasure that CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad is hosting the 51st Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Memorial Tournament (SSBMT) (outdoor) Finals from 8 - 12, February 2023. This is a mega event with an assembly of 220 competitive sports persons from 17 CSIR National laboratories from different states of our country. It indeed presents an opportunity to recognize the positive role sport and physical activity play in communities and in people’s lives. The tournament will provide a stage for the CSIR family members to indulge themselves in competitive sporting events fostering a spirit of Team Work amongst the participants. Such exposure will enrich their experience and also will aid them to inculcate high values of team work and competitive mind set which will help them to imbibe these qualities into their professional lives.
I welcome all the participants of this sporting extravaganza and urge them to participate in their respective events with utmost zeal and vigour by maintaining the sportsman spirit.
